More About Kate
Hello. I’m Kate (she/her). I’m an anti-diet, therapeutic coach, a registered clinical hypnotherapist and a UKCP Psychotherapist in training.
I fully understand your struggle with food and body image because I lived through it for twenty-five years. To the outside world, I appeared to be happy, ‘normal’ and successful, but internally I was in chaos – my eating was out of control and I felt ashamed of my body. Whatever size I was, I never felt ‘good enough’.
In 2005 I stopped dieting, gave up fighting against food and my body and started treating myself with kindness and respect. I began to enjoy eating for pleasure and nourishment, I learned about self-care and the joy of movement, and I learned how to be comfortable and confident in my body. The chaos inside me subsided and I finally felt calm and free.
This is the peace and freedom that I offer you when you work with me.
My Purpose
My mission is to empower women to break free from disordered or chaotic eating, yo-yo dieting, body shame and feelings of being ‘not good enough’.
I will help you to transform your relationship with food and your body, and ultimately yourself, so you can feel peace, calm and a sense of gentle, self-acceptance.
You will learn how to nourish yourself, both physically and mentally, with kindness and self-compassion, so you can live freely, authentically and with complete confidence in your own self-worth.
My Values
Helping others to transform their relationship with food and their bodies is incredibly rewarding. It isn’t just what I do, it’s an integral part of who I am, and it is truly heartwarming to witness each client’s success.
I value freedom, love, honesty, openness, authenticity and connection.
Outside the therapy space, I honour my own sense of peace and joy – spending time with friends, hiking, canoeing, swimming, meditating, reading, listening to music and cuddling my cats.
